Steelion Structura GL Plus Alu-Zinc Tubes are manufactured using a 55% to 43.4% ratio of Aluminium to Zinc alloy coils added with a small amount of silicon (1.6%) to ensure better durability and adhesion. Aluminium differentiates Alu zinc from galvanised steel. Steel coated with Alu zinc appears similar to galvanized steel but has a smoother appearance. Apparently, Steelion will be presenting this combination for the first time in India with 150 GSM coating of Aluminium and Zinc. Alu Zinc is applied on both sides of the rolled sheets. The hot-dip process gives protection to the edges as well. The coating with Zinc and Aluminium can take the perks of aluminium while ensuring protection to the sides using Zinc. While Aluminium acts as a barrier for protection, Zinc keeps the product away from scratches.
Benefits of Alu Zinc Coating
Alu-Zinc coating is corrosion resistant.
Alu-Zinc retains the metal’s high strength-to-weight ratio.
The coating is strong, durable, flexible and will not crack or flake as the sheet metal is bent or formed.
Steel coated with Alu-Zinc has superior reflectance in the sunlight. High reflectance reduces heat absorption.
Alu-Zinc coated steel costs less than stainless steel and hot-dipped galvanised steel.
Maintenance and repair needs are minimal, providing more cost savings.
Steel with Alu-Zinc is versatile. It is easily rolled, bent, stamped and fabricated without losing the protection of the coating.

Advantages of Steelion Structura GL plus Alu-Zinc tube
Superior uniform 150 GSM Alu-Zinc coating provides 3 times longer life than GI tubes.
An additional layer of organic coating in Steelion Structura GL Plus provides better corrosion resistance even in the absence of paint coating.
Scratch-proof materials that help prevent corrosion.
Made from virgin steel, which improves the strength and life of the material.
Yield strength above 310nm2 which is higher strength to weight ratio compared to normal tubes (210nm2). This could result in 30% savings in steel.
Available in smaller thicknesses (1.2 mm & 1.4 mm) and enables total project weight reduction up to 30 %.
Cost-effective and provides a better life than hot-dip galvanised tubes.
Due to less weight and a smooth profile, it is convenient for fabricators to handle easily.
The Smooth finishing with small spangles in it enhances the aesthetic appeal of structures.
Accuracy in dimensions.
Suitable for usage in an exposed environment and in all weather conditions.
